Conduit Suite
Well. There goes the money (sometimes near). And who’s fault is it? Stu again.
But I’m fine with it, as it is something that I wanted for a long time. So what is this Conduit Suite at all?
Well, it’s a fully GPU-driven nodal compositing tool. Doesn’t make sense? Don’t know what this one means? Well, I’ll try to explain it to you.
As I’m comming from the photoshop world there is first another thing to add. Conduit is not just a Tool for Filmmakers, but also for image creators that maybe use renders in Photoshop. It even helps you building your Mattepaintings from rendered Stuff in Photoshop with 3D-ish lighting. And the good thing is that you can light the things animated also in After FX or Final Cut/Motion.
So what does it do. First of all it’s an Effect that’s fully GPU-driven, which means that the Effect works realtime. If the Image doesn’t move. But you dont have to wait if you change something, you’ll see it immediately. And it’s not just one Filter, it’s a Set of Nodes that change specific things in the image. Like a blur. Or an channel splitter, or a keyer. And you can arrange them as you want. With them interacting with each other. One Example: Maybe you want to make the clean HDV image look noisy. But only in the black areas. Well Use the footage, splitt the alpha chanel and set them as the matte for the noise. If you want more or less noise, just put a curves between it and change it till it works.
I could go on forever, but i will not
For that I’ll wait till I have the money to buy it and then build some stuff. The good thing is that you can save the built Effect and reuse it. Maybe your selfmade keyer that works best with your Equipment? Or your own Filmlook-Preset? Or… Man, the possibilities are nearly endless.
