Free Closing Credits plugin

Final Cut Pro: My free Closing Credits plugin « Editing organazized

Alex4D has released his Free Closing Credits Plug-In for FinalCut.

With it you get much more Control over your Credits. You are able to have 2 Headings and the normal Credits-Style. And you can style the Names, the Job descriptions and the two Headings equally. Good if you change your Mind about the used color shortly before rendering the Stuff out.

As it’s free go there and grab it. It can only make your Life easier!

Take a look at what it can produce:

Reverie

Click Image to watch Reverie, a short done with the all new Canon EOS 5D MKII. A DSLR that can record 1080 30p. Yeah. 30p. H264. Not Ideal for Filmmakers (the Shutter is 360 also) but if you do Stills than maybe it’s one for you.

To get to know more about it I’d like to send you to dpreview, but this are the Key Features:

Key Specifications:

* New 21.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor with improved EOS Integrated Cleaning System (E.I.C.S.)
* New Full HD 1080 resolution movie recording
* 3.9 frames per second continuous shooting
* High performance DIGIC 4 providing superb image quality
* Maximum 310 large JPEG images in a single burst with a UDMA card
* 3.0” VGA (920k dots) Clear View LCD
* ISO 100-6400 (expansion from 50 up to 25,600)
* 9 AF points + 6 Assist AF points

As I’m not that much into Stills and my Olympus E400 is way enough for me for this one I’ll wait for the all new Scarlet Specs instead.

New Version of ParticleIllusion makes it useable again

I used ParticleIllusion a few years ago, as there was no After Effects for me. And it worked. Was a pain in the Ass, but it worked. Then there was After Effects with Particles. For Years.

Then there was 3.0.7 (their Website is Pain in the Ass too)

Now you are able to export to HD without Probs, the Emmiters are up to date automatic-style and man is this one fast. Rendering this Video os an Aurora on LSD took me about three minutes on my MacBook (without the Pro, the small one). Another three minutes for the Alpha based on the Particles. That’s fast.

Aurora - ParticleIllusion Rendertest from GPSchnyder on Vimeo.

Now a Plug-In for this one would be nice. Double click it to open the File and edit and rerender it. And inside it’s used as a normal Video. That would kick ass big time. But fix your website first wondertouch…

What are Scrippets?

Well, it seems like they are Plug-ins for Wordpress, bbpress and Drupal and look like that:

They were imagined by John August and are there for posting perfectly styled excerpts from Screenplays on Wordpres-Pages, in the Comments, Forums or other sites. To get this upper thing there the “Code” would be:

EXT. ANCIENT ROME - DAY

ANTONIUS and IPSUM are walking down a tiny, crowded street.

ANTONIUS

Do you think in a thousand years, anyone will remember our names?

IPSUM

Not yours. But they’ll know mine. Because I intend to write something so profound that it will be remembered for the ages. Designers in the 20th Century call for Lorem Ipsum whenever they need to fill text blocks.

[/scrippet]

If your Site feature screenplays you should really take a look at this one.

IFSS about DVD and Showreels

Just a short one, but worth a whole post.

On the Blog of the International Film School Sydney there is a really good article about what to look for if creating your DVD and Showreels. The PDF linked there is worth a download. I printed it and put it to my stuff, as I sometimes need to redo Reels for friends or clients and that are some solid “rules” in there
