I really think the 21 is a Hpe the Hype thing. That’s where RED is really good at, besides building stunning digital Cinema Cameras. I for myself think it has something to do with stereoscopic filming, but we have to wait.

Well, yeah, maybe it looks like a prop from T-Salvation.

But please show me the bleeding edge design from Sony. Arri, whomever.

If the picture is good and the Image is (RedCode) Raw it can look like a humpadumpa on speed. I don’t care. And that’s beside the fact that I love the look of the red products. They are not so steamlined like al this shit sold that tries to match the style of a million people and looks like every other thing on the shelf. A Sony Handycam (I have one and love it) looks like a Canon, like a samsung, like a … You get the Idea. Heck, even my razor could be a cousin of my Handycam lookvise.

unfortunately the scarlet’s design is starting to look dated even before it’s released, rather like a prop from terminator salvation.

Yeah, true.
But remember that the “not written in Stone” Specs has been changed to the better in many places. Best “upgrade” was the f2.8 up to f2.4

That’s huge. Especially for a small Sensor cam. Every Step up is a more filmic looking dof.

And to be true the 4k$ are a fucking low price for the things this cam offers on paper. I mean: Slap two together and for 8k$ you have a fully working Stereo Cam. Thats awesome.
